Our Rural Housing Enablers Tim Gwilliam and Sarah Walker work with town and parish councils, community groups, district councils, housing associations and landowners to increase the supply of rural affordable housing in Gloucestershire.
Tim and Sarah do this by:
• Engaging and working with communities to carry out local Affordable Housing Needs Surveys to establish the evidence-base needed to convincingly demonstrate the need for new affordable housing projects
• Exploring with communities ways to provide Affordable Housing, championing new approaches including Community-Led Housing
• Finding sites for Affordable Housing and working with communities, land owners, local planning authorities and Registered Providers (Housing Associations etc.) to enable delivery
• Giving people the facts about why Affordable Housing is important to local communities – and to Gloucestershire as a whole
• Co-ordinating the Gloucestershire Rural Housing Partnership (GRHP) which brings together Gloucestershire's four rural district and borough councils, key local and national housing associations, and Homes England to enable the delivery of more affordable rural housing in Gloucestershire.
We focus on enabling affordable housing through social rent, affordable rent, and shared ownership tenures.
We help communities, Parish and Town Councils, Community-Led Housing groups and projects, Community Land Trusts, Cohousing groups, Landowners, Housing Associations, Planning Authorities, private developers, and others.
