Affordable Housing Needs Surveys
GRCC is the leading provider of Housing Needs Surveys for rural Gloucestershire. These are arranged annually by the Gloucestershire Rural Housing Partnership (GRHP), which includes Tewkesbury Borough Council, and Stroud, Cotswold, and Forest of Dean District Councils as members.
Housing Needs Surveys are often conducted on a rolling basis as evidence for Planning Teams to justify affordable need and thus bring forward Rural Exception Sites to meet locally identified need. Please note that, since the NPPF update in December 2023, Rural Exception Sites now include Community Led Housing - see our Stroud and Cotswolds Community Led Housing pages for further details.
We can also undertake private Housing Needs Surveys outside of the GRHP’s annual Housing Needs Survey Programme. This depends on capacity, so we encourage you to get in touch as early as possible if you are interested in commissioning us to undertake a Housing Needs Survey for you in a particular area.
