Mike McKeown

Mike McKeown has spent over 25 years in the technology industry, holding senior leadership roles at Cisco, Verimatrix and other international software businesses. He is now Founder and Managing Director of Human-AI Systems, an AI transformation consultancy that helps organisations adopt artificial intelligence in a disciplined and responsible way.

Mike is an elected Cabinet Member at Cotswold District Council, holding the Digital and Climate Change portfolio, where he co-authored the council's AI Policy and Strategy. He is also a co-founder of Thames Head Community Energy, a local initiative bringing community-owned renewable energy to the Cotswolds.

Alongside this, Mike coaches emerging leaders on the Stepping Up programme and the UK100 Climate Academy, supporting people working to make their organisations and communities more sustainable.

Mike first encountered GRCC as a judge for the Village of the Year competition, an experience that gave him a real appreciation of the resilience and creativity of Gloucestershire's rural communities. He lives in the Cotswolds with his family.
