Lucy Eccles joined GRCC in 2025 as our Community Resilience Officer, working with external partners to improve community resilience to emergencies across Gloucestershire. This primarily involves supporting our volunteer flood warden programmes, and helping communities to develop their own community emergency plans.
Lucy graduated with a BSc in Geography, giving her a good foundation in flood management, sustainable planning, and the implications of climate change.
Lucy is passionate about providing a community-based approach to local preparedness, and hopes to use her skills to strengthen community resilience to challenges (including flooding and the effects of climate change) to create safer communities.
Outside of work Lucy enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and map reading, and also loves to cook.
