Join our team as a Community Development Officer

Full-time role

Salary: £25,500 per annum

Closing date for applications is 10a.m. on Monday, 29 September 2025

Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 8 and Thursday, 9 October 2025

Are you a ‘people person’ who loves working in, and with, communities?

We are looking for a dynamic, engaging and inspiring person to join our Community Development Team. The successful candidate will have experience of working with a wide range of communities, parish and town councils, and community organisations.

You will be working with a diverse range of people and will need to be adaptable, organised, and an excellent communicator in order to engage and work with communities on their projects and ideas.

We value potential and transferable skills, so please don’t hesitate to apply even if you don’t tick every box.

This is a full-time post (36 hours per week) based at GRCC’s offices in Gloucester. Post holders will be required to travel to meetings countywide and occasionally out of the county. Evening and weekend work may be required, for which equal time off in lieu is allowed.

The job description and person specification, plus application form, can be downloaded via the links below.

Applications will only be accepted on a completed GRCC application form and should be submitted by 10am on Monday, 29 September 2025. In your application, please explain how you meet the qualities outlined in the person specification. Previous applicants need not reapply.

Those shortlisted will be interviewed on Wednesday, 8 or Thursday, 9 October 2025.

If you have any queries or would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact jobs@grcc.org.uk or ask to speak to Angela Gilbert, Community Development Team Manager, on 01452 528491.

If you do not hear from us by the interview date above, your application has not been successful.
