GRCC is recruiting for two full time Community Development Officers to join the Community Development Team at GRCC.

Both roles will give the successful candidates the opportunity to work with communities on their projects and ideas, inspiring and supporting them, building their capacity so that they can progress their ideas to fruition.

Projects supported and the skills you will develop will be rich and varied, covering for example: community action on Climate Change; Community Shops; Village Halls; Road Safety and Speeding.  Skills such as funding advice, project management, volunteer management, community led planning, and community engagement through community events and consultations will be developed.

Post 1: Candidates will already have experience of working with communities, the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector, and most importantly on aspects of community led planning, including Neighbourhood Development Plans.

These are both full time posts (36 hours per week) based at GRCC's offices in Gloucester.  Post holders will be required to travel to meetings countywide and occasionally out of the county.  Evening and weekend work may be required, for which equal time off in lieu is allowed.
