Naunton Village Hall re-opens following refurbishment

Naunton Village Hall is open for business again after a six-month refit costing nearly £250,000.

The refurbished hall has been redecorated both inside and out making it a friendly, welcoming environment.  It has been insulated throughout and now benefits from having central heating, including underfloor heating in the main hall.  There are new double-glazed windows and upgraded flooring in all the rooms.

An enlarged kitchen features a range cooker, deep freeze, fridge, and an industrial dishwasher for anyone wanting to cater at events.  The hall has been awarded a five star hygiene certificate.

There is also a room available for smaller meetings of up to eight persons.

The heating has been configured so that hirers only pay for that part of the hall they are using, e.g. the lounge, main hall or meeting room.

Funds for the rebuild were raised over a number of years by local residents running concerts, country markets and classic car rallies.  However, a large proportion of the finance came from a precept backed by the Parish Council as well as extensive private donations from residents.

The hall also received financial contributions from Cotswold District Council, Tesco, Garfield Weston, Summerfield and Notgrove Trusts.

"This has been a great community effort by Naunton to bring its village hall up to date," said Ian Adcock, chair of Naunton Village Hall.  Everyone ought to be rightly proud of what they have achieved.  The new hall will provide not just Naunton but the surrounding area with a great venue to hold a wide variety of events."

Anyone interested in hiring the hall should visit its website or contact Pat Boult (01451 850586) or Angela Cossey (01451 850767).
