Photos from our ACT Wellbeing Walk at Westonbirt Arboretum

Our Cotswold Community Wellbeing Service team organised a very successful Wellbeing Walk at Westonbirt Arboretum on 23rd July 2024, as part of our ACT (Active and Confident Together) programme of activities.  These target people with long term health conditions, frailty, hidden illnesses, and older people, thanks to some extra funding to the Cotswold Community Wellbeing Service from the NHS through the Cotswold Integrated Locality Partnership.

Thirteen participants came along on the free-of-charge Wellbeing Walk outing, most of them making use of the free minibus transport which we had arranged from Cirencester.

"This was a very worthwhile activity where people with different health conditions, some of whom struggle to keep active, were able to enjoy a gentle stroll out in the fresh air and trees of Westonbirt," said Amanda Wragg, our Cotswold Community Wellbeing Service Project Manager.

The participants were very positive about the Wellbeing Walk - their comments included

  • "I hardly ever go out of the house normally or see other people"
  • "It was great to get some fresh air and meet some new people"
  • "Lovely views and landscape"
  • "It really did me good!"

There was even some tree hugging!  We have another Wellbeing Walk planned at Westonbirt Arboretum on 20th August.

You can see a gallery of photos below - starting with disembarking from the minibus, and ending with lunch sitting outside the Westonbirt Arboretum cafe.
