GRCC announces Our Halls at Christmas campaign

This Christmas, GRCC want to celebrate our wonderful community buildings and village halls in Gloucestershire. Christmas events at our community buildings and halls have become a staple in the community and were a great miss last year, amongst many other things. We want to celebrate the fact that they can host Christmas events this year and showcase what’s going on.

GRCC have worked with our Community Building Network throughout the pandemic and were awarded funding by the Gloucestershire County Council to support the network in getting their halls COVID ready.

We are encouraging our halls this year to send us images and videos of their Christmas preparations and events for us to post on our social media platforms. Please send in your entries to jonathang@grcc.org.uk

Liane James, one of our Community Development Team officers, shared this from her hall as an example of what you could send in:

‘We are very excited at Whiteshill & Ruscombe to welcome Father Christmas back for his annual pre-Christmas visit.  We’re busy getting ready to build his magical grotto (his temporary home-from-home) ready for 19th December when he drops by to wish us all a merry Christmas and give gifts to the children of the parish.

We’ve let everyone know he’s on his way and we’ve chosen a beautiful tree which will take pride of place in the hall. And to make the day extra special the weather forecast says, snow guaranteed - courtesy of our wonderful friends at Snowbusiness.

Merry Christmas to all village halls in Gloucestershire – we hope you have as much fun as we will!’

In the weeks approaching Christmas, we'll share as many great events that our halls host as we can!
