GRCC are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Gold Green Impact Award! Green Impact is about creating positive, environmental change and altering behaviour so that we can continue to be greener.

The award encourages sustainability in order for organisations to cut down on their environmental impact and are awarded either Bronze, Silver or Gold. The GEM Project, which is jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund, ask all their partners to take part in the scheme and GRCC have done just that in achieving the highest of accolades.

The awards are run by NUS and the programme brings together students and staff/volunteers to drive various sustainability actions supported and guided by an evidenced workbook framework hopefully enabling greener communities. There are several categories that you are encouraged to work towards. These include Travel, Waste, Procurement, Energy, Engagement and Strategic Impacts.

More information on the Green Impact Awards can be found here: http://greenimpact.nus.org.uk/

There will be an online awards ceremony on the 14th July and as an organisation we are incredibly proud to have achieved this award and look forward to continuing to work in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
