Neighbourhood Watch Week 2020

This week celebrates Neighbourhood Watch Week 2020. Read about the importance of the campaign and what you can do to get involved:

The campaign is run every year from 7th June to 13th June, however, this year carries significance after the surge in neighbourliness that we’ve seen during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

People have interacted with their neighbours more than ever this year and it’s been a vital part of getting through these tough times. Checking in on elderly neighbours, collecting food and medicine and even having social distanced coffee mornings have all played their part in getting through the last few months.

Neighbourhood Watch now feel it’s time to say thank you to everyone and take time to appreciate the actions that people have taken. There are plenty of ways to get involved:

Display a Lockdown Poster

Award winning British cartoonist, Tony Husband, has created bespoke cartoons depicting kind neighbourly actions in lockdown. Tony’s cartoons can be downloaded below as posters to display in your window, or postcards to pop through a neighbour’s door. You can access the posters here.

Enter the 'Neighbourliness in Lockdown' competition

Neighbourhood Watch are running a cartoon competition. You can download blank posters and blank postcards as a template for your cartoons. Create your cartoon, display it in your window or gift it to a neighbour, and email us a digital copy (scan or photo of your cartoon). The winner for each age category  4- 11, 12 - 17, and adult will receive their cartoon image on a mug.  Full details of the competition can be found here.

Facebook Live Quiz

Put your general knowledge to the test and join in on the 12th June at 7pm for a light-hearted Facebook Live Quiz, to be hosted by Neighbourhood Watch Network's CEO, John Hayward-Cripps.
