International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually and is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The first IWD gathering dates back to 1911 and has been celebrated ever since. The colour for the day is purple and internationally this has been a colour for symbolizing women.

There are a number of ways to get involved, whether that’s by attending an event or entering an IWD competition, there’s lots you can do! You can see everything that’s available to you here.

The theme of #EachforEqual has been set to work towards the goal of building an equal world. Equality is not a women's issue, it's a business issue with gender equality being essential for economies and communities to thrive. On IWD, Women are being asked to show the pose for #EachforEqual.
