First GRCC Training course of 2020 announced

GRCC are pleased to announce our first VCS training and development session of the year. Managing Risk in your Organisation will be run by Chris Hickey from Charlton HR.

Managing risk and within that, knowing what risks there are to manage, is a vital skill that any organisation needs to have, but especially within the VCS sector. And this is why GRCC has brought in expertise from Charlton HR so that these skills can be taught and learnt by you.

This will be our first VCS training course of 2020 and having hosted eight courses in 2019 we wanted to start this year with a great course. The courses cost £60 with bursaries available for VCS organisation based in Gloucestershire (cost reduces to £12 incl VAT). Managing Risk in your Organisation will take place on Thursday 13th February.

This short course will take you through the key steps to create a Risk Register following well established principles. The risks considered in this session will be under the following headings:

•          Governance risks

•          Operational risks

•          Financial risks

•          External risks

•          Compliance with law and regulation

This session will act as a ‘kick-start’ for voluntary sector organisations* at the beginning of the process and delegates will work on practical examples and will be able to take away the core structure for their own Risk Register.
