The Final GRCC Training Workshop of the Year

Coming up on the 11th December will be our final training and development session of 2019. This will be about Managing, supporting and retaining volunteers.

If your organisation has volunteers then you’ll know that they can often be the life blood of the organisation. Without volunteers then the VCS sector would grind to a halt. But with mismanagement, it can lead to volunteers feeling unsupported and not wanting to give up their valuable free time. And therefore, learning how to manage, support and retain your volunteers is a vital skill.

If you are responsible for volunteers, then this is the workshop for you. Led by Angela Gilbert this workshop will guide you in how to manage your volunteers but also in supporting and retaining them and generally improving the volunteering experience in your organisation so that volunteers are happy and want to continue their volunteering journey with you.

The course will cover:

-         What motivates your volunteers and why it is important to know

-         The difference between support and supervision

-         Tips to help others in your organisation understand their role in supporting volunteers

-         Recognising the impact of volunteering in your organisation and beyond

The course is £60 (incl VAT) but there are bursaries available for voluntary and community sector organisations in Gloucestershire with an annual income of under £350k.

The course will be held at the GRCC offices in Gloucester which is in the grounds of Gloucester Cathedral. GRCC have been pleased to have held seven VCS Training and Development workshops in 2019 with this being the eighth. We’d like to thank everyone for their attendance and we’ll be back with more in the New Year.
