Large Hall upstairs with Georgian timber trusses, and downstairs a smaller hall.  Both halls have timber floors and can be used for parties, weddings, talks, regular groups, etc.

The downstairs hall is lined with bookshelves as it is used by Newnham Community Library on Mondays, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Booking charges

The rates for the halls upstairs and downstairs, and for daytime, evenings and weekends, are the same.  (The minimum hire period for bookings ending after 7pm is 1 1/2 hours.)

Activity and hire rate per hour:

  • Non-commercial Newnham group £8;
  • Any other group £10;
  • Children's party £8;
  • Local resident's private party £13;
  • Non-resident's private party £16.

Use of kitchen, where appropriate, is included in the hire charge.

The Armoury has an alcohol licence so the purchase of a Temporary Event Notice from the District Council for the sale of alcohol is unnecessary, but a fee of £3 per hour will be charged to offset the cost of the licence.
