Other information

This important community facility opened in July 2011 and is a landmark in Forest Green. As Nailsworth's new purpose built community centre it provides great accommodation for hire for events, private parties, receptions, clubs, businesses and organisations. Hire rates are competitive.

It is owned and operated by the Arkell Community Centre Charitable Trust (Charity number 1138668) with Nailsworth Town Council as sole trustee and the clerk to the town council as secretary to the Trust.

The Arkell Community Centre is largely funded by:

  • the European Agricultural Fund for European Development 2007 - 2013; Europe investing in rural areas. This funding project is delivered through the South West of England Regional Development Agency with Defra as the managing authority;
  • Gloucestershire Environmental Trust with landfill tax contributions donated by Cory Environmental;
  • and through the bequest of the late Frank Arkell.
