Kate joined GRCC in 2006 to work as Rural Adviser in the Forest of Dean after a career as a secondary school teacher, community education tutor, schools adviser and Museum Education officer. She can help you to develop your Parish/ Community Led Plan and any projects resulting from your plan, including providing funding advice. In 2008, Kate worked with members of communities in Gloucestershire to develop a countywide Parish & Community Led database which is updated regularly by communities and contains actions from all of Gloucestershire’s parish/community led plans.
Kate is a member of the Forest of Dean Local Action Group Executive which administers £2.6 million Rural Development Programme funding in the Forest of Dean until 2013.
She has also been a founder member of the Forest of Dean Economy & Skills Partnership. This was established as a result of consultation with stakeholders and the community and has coordinated projects linked to the local economy.
Although much of Kate’s work has been focussed in the Forest of Dean she also works elsewhere in the county and as part of the GRCC Advice Team she has a county perspective of rural development.
