GRCC’s Rural Community Accelerator Project is able to support communities to build their skills and knowledge to turn ideas into effective action. The project operates in the three rural districts of Cotswold, Stroud and Tewkesbury.

Interested in involving young people in developing activities for youth?
Looking at innovative ways of funding activities- including creation of Community Shares?
Keen to use social media in order to improve communications for your parish council?
Interested in setting up social enterprises or developing existing ones - from community shops to community energy generation and community allotments or open spaces?
Communities investigating structures to fund and manage regeneration and projects, including set up of development trusts?
Interested in developing local opportunities and services for older people?
Willing to work with other parishes / parish meetings in order to provide essential services?
Aiming to develop and make better use of hubs or centres for community activity?
Interested in developing business hubs and/or meeting points for people who work from home or run a business from home?

Through the Rural Community Accelerator Project, GRCC is working in partnership with GFirst, Gloucestershire Association of Town and Parish Councils Gloucestershire Market Towns Forum, and the University of Gloucestershire. The project is funded through the Rural Development Programme for England.
