Quality standards

At GRCC we continually strive to improve our effectiveness and to  demonstrate the organisation’s performance against nationally recognised and externally assessed quality assurance standards. Inclusion and equal opportunities principles are incorporated in all our activities so that our services are accessible.

We recognise and value people’s differences and welcome the variety of different views, outlooks and approaches that a diverse workforce brings. This helps us to have fuller understanding of our communities and to improve our services. We are committed to recruiting, training and promoting people based on qualifications, experience and abilities and are also committed to bringing out the best in our staff.

GRCC holds the highest level of the ACRE Good Practice Quality Standard (Level 3) which entitles us to display the Charity Commission logo for the Hallmarks of an Effective Charity.

The ACRE quality standard is also recognised by DEFRA and demonstrates the organisation’s obligation to consistently review its operational procedures across all areas of the organisation. It therefore provides the assurance that GRCC is fit for purpose and effectively managed.

The ACRE Good Practice Quality Standards Assessment includes consideration of the following areas:

  • Business planning
  • User-centred services
  • Trustees and the board
  • Managing activities
  • Financial management
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Managing and supporting staff
  • Training and skills development
  • Networks and partnerships
