Calor Village of the Year®
GRCC is the county competition organiser for Calor Gloucestershire Village of the Year®
Calor have been supplying the countryside with gas in cylinders and bulk tanks for over 70 years. The annual Calor Village of the Year® competition is their way of supporting customers in rural communities and encouraging rural sustainability.
Entry is through a network of county competitions. All county competition organisers then nominate a village to represent their county in the national competition. In most cases the nominated village will be the village that won the county competition.
Calor Gloucestershire Village of the Year® is open to all communities in Gloucestershire with a parish council or parish meeting and a population of less than 5,000.
The judges look for villages which are balanced, proactive, caring and, irrespective of size, have made the best of local opportunities to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all their inhabitants.
Entry forms are available from February each year, with the awards ceremony taking place in the summer. Please contact Naomi McMahon at GRCC on naomim@grcc.org.uk for further information.
