Gloucestershire Rural Community Council

Supporting Gloucestershire's rural communities through change

Pub Clubs

Tewkesbury Pub Club

A pub club pilot started in Toddington, Nr Tewkesbury in May 2008. The inititative, funded by Gloucestershire County Council and delivered by GRCC’s In Touch project in conjunction with the Village Agents project, aims to provide older people living in Toddington and the surrounding areas with an opportunity to come together at the Pheasant Pub on a monthly basis to participate in both health and arts based activities and enjoy a traditional pub lunch.

In areas like Toddington, where access to local meeting places are limited and transport links are poor or non-existent, this type of activity will enable older people to socialise, find out what health services are available to them and participate in creative arts based activities in a friendly, safe environment.

Longney & Epney Pub Club

Following the success of the Pheasant Pub Club, In Touch have been working in Longney and Epney to start another pub club. The next meeting will take place on Monday 19th October at 10.30am for a Quiz.

Events in the future will include Tai Chi on Monday 16th November 2009 and Christmas Carols on Monday 14th December 2009. See our events page for more information.
