How do we devise our Plan?

Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) has brought together a host of practical information and expertise into the “Your Community Emergency Plan” toolkit to help communities create an Emergency Plan tailored to their needs.

What is included in this toolkit?

• A step by step guide to producing your plan – preparing before an emergency, measures to take during an emergency and what to do afterwards to recover
• Fully adjustable Microsoft Word templates to download and adjust as you wish, with some completed examples
• Examples of how communities are approaching emergency planning and lessons learned from their experiences
• Information about linking up with local authorities, which have overall responsibility for emergency planning and will be able to provide some support and advice

Training

GRCC will provide training on the use of this toolkit for Advisors who will be working with communities. This can be bespoke, integrated with purchase of the toolkit, and tailored to your communities. It might include how to engage with steering groups/ Parish and Town Councils in the beginning, work with Community Response Groups, or how to involve the wider communities.
