Cotswold Cycling Routes
A successful sustainable tourism project masterminded by GRCC culminated in Spring 2007 with the production of 5,000 free cycling packs.
The initiative was funded by Cotswold District Council’s share of council tax paid by second home owners and was developed to promote local businesses and the benefits of cycling as an enjoyable form of sustainable transport.
The packs include five circular cycle routes which start and finish from the following towns and villages: Bibury, Bourton-on-the-Water, Kemble, Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh. The start of each route is accessible by public transport and the routes are designed to take cyclists past a range of local businesses including farm shops, post offices, cafes, restaurants, pubs and cycle hire shops.
Packs are available from visitor information centres, tourist attractions, businesses along the routes and train stations.
