We provide support material and guidance to encourage communities to carry out inclusive, robust and high quality consultations and action plans.
What is a Parish and Community-led Plan?
A parish and community-led plan is a complete action plan which covers issues that concern your community. Through consultation, issues are identified and prioritised, and through partnership they’re achieved. A parish and community-led plan sets out a vision for the future of your community. It will include social, economical and environmental aspects. The plan can be used to influence agencies' strategies and relates to the local development framework.

How can GRCC help with your Parish and Community-led Plan?
GRCC's rural advice team will help you at every stage of your parish and community-led plan. They will do this by:
- Giving neutral and independent advice
- Providing a toolkit of information to guide the process
- Helping identify potential sources of funding to finance your plan
- Giving training and advice on consultation techniques and how to turn the results into an action plan
- Providing links to other organisations to move forward actions
- Attending some key meetings to advise on the process
- Being available to answer queries
- Linking communities for support and joint learning
- Managing a countywide database of Parish and Community-led Plans)
- Facilitating a Parish and Community-led Plan Forum in most districts (next forums: Stroud, Forest of Dean)
- Distributing regular newsletters and giving access to a GRCC library of resources
The GRCC web forum is an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss issues with other people involved in the parish and community led plan process.
