Need a friend or know someone who does?

Sometimes an older person can feel cut off from their community, whether that's through ill health, bereavement, or because family and friends live far away.  We all know how important social contact can be in making us feel a valued part of our community, especially if we are house-bound.  That's where People For You can help.

How it works

If you would like someone to come and visit you, get in touch with us.  Sue Black, our co-ordinator, will arrange to come and visit you to find out more about you and the sort of things you are interested in.  This will help us to find the right person for you, someone that you'll get on with.

We introduce you to a local, reliable volunteer who will visit you regularly in the comfort of your own home to spend time together for a chat over a cup of tea.  All our volunteers are local to their communities and come from all walks of life.  They have a genuine interest in meeting you, and we try to match you with someone who shares a mutual interest so that you have a foundation on which to build a fulfilling relationship.

We can also help signpost you to other services and support if you need them.

Our service is completely free and confidential so if you need a friend, or you know someone who does, in the south of the Cotswolds, get in touch with Sue Black sue.peopleforyou@grcc.org.uk or 07810 630167.
