Linking people in care homes with those in the community through letter writing

GRCC's In Touch project is joining forces with Gloucestershire County Council’s Care Homes co-ordinator on an exciting new project called ‘Plumes’. This project is all about linking people in care homes with those in the community through letter writing.

Despite excellent conditions and plenty of activities laid on, people in care homes can often feel lonely if they don’t have relatives or friends living nearby. Receiving a handwritten letter on a regular basis would help ease that loneliness, as well as giving something to look forward to.

We can then match you with someone nearby, or further afield if you would prefer. In return, you will of course receive a reply! This is a real opportunity to make a difference to the life of someone in a care environment.
