Community Consultation event
The Community Consultation event at Maisemore Village Hall on 24th May was well-attended and successful. The aim of the evening was to give an overview of community consultation techniques. The introduction focused on the differences between engagement and consultation using examples from successful parish plans and feasibility studies in Gloucestershire. This was followed by interactive workshops on:
- Questionnaires
- Consulting with young people
- Consultation activities to gain opinions and make decisions
Feedback showed that awareness was raised about new consultation techniques and that people are keen to have more in-depth training on some of the techniques that were demonstrated.
The Rural Adviser for your district can facilitate a meeting to decide which types of consultation methods would be the most appropriate for your community. The contact details for the rural advisers can be found on the staff section of this website.
