WERN visit to WILD Coln Project

In October GRCC's Environment Lead Helen Richards, alongside Jenny Phelps from the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG), hosted a visit from GRCC's sister organisation the West of England Rural Network (WERN).  Participants in WERN's Great Flood Project, commemorating 50 years since the devastating Chew Valley Floods, travelled up to Fairford to learn more about how communities and landowners are working together to address water management concerns and build resilience through the Thames Water funded Fairford Healthy WILD Coln Project.

Our thanks to the community members of Fairford for their invaluable input throughout the visit.  Thanks also to the Ernest Cook Trust's Property Director for giving his time to talk about how the Trust and their farmers engage with the project, and for giving us a warm, dry place to meet!
