GRCC's 'Your Community Emergency Plan' Toolkit now available online

The Toolkit, a guide to enable communities to put together their own Emergency Plan, was developed by GRCC after the 2007 floods in Gloucestershire, following the Pitt Review.

Originally designed and produced on disk for Gloucestershire communities, it has been used both locally and nationally by many communities who could see the need for locally based resilience, being able to look after their people in their place especially in those first few hours.  The question was how to actually go about getting it in place, for whatever emergency - so this toolkit gives the How to...

Now the updated and revised version is online here under our emergency planning work.  It takes you through easy stages, with lots of ideas, and downloadable Word templates that mean you can involve people as you go along, and have a plan that works for you at the end.

It also gives some examples from Gloucestershire communities to give a flavour of what works for them.
